Thank you so much for your interest in helping us with our mission to save beagles!! How did you hear about SouthEast Beagle Rescue?*
Have you volunteered at another rescue organization or shelter? If so, which one and could you share briefly what activities you had the opportunity to be engaged in?
We’d love to talk about the information you provide - how would you prefer we contact you?
So let’s talk about opportunities with SEBR!
Fostering is a wonderful experience, and if you are considering giving it a try, please know we will give you lots of support and friendly guidance. We will send you our Foster Handbook and be happy to answer questions and share experiences. We sometimes have temporary foster opportunities with specific dates, or you can foster your beagle until they are adopted.
Are you interested in fostering or speaking with someone about fostering?*
If you are interested in fostering, would you please share the following with us?
If you have other dogs and/or pets, please tell us about them.
Please share some of your knowledge and experience with basic dog obedience training.
We do not require our fosters to provide transportation, but it is a wonderful thing if you are able to. Do you think you might be able to drive your beagle to a vet appointment or to meet an adopter? If so, how long a drive would you be comfortable with?
Do you have any experience with crating/kenneling a dog and are you comfortable with crating your beagle when you are away from home? Do you currently own a crate? Could you tell us what size by measuring end to end?
SEBR provides all medications and pay for all medical treatment, but we do ask that you provide food, treats and lots of love!
When we have an opportunity to talk with you more about fostering, we will explore together what type of dog will work best for you, your family and your living environment.
Transporting We have lots of volunteer transport opportunities – vet visits, foster transfers, adoption sleepovers, taking part in a multi-leg transport bringing beagles from out of state to Florida foster homes. If you are interested in transporting, we would be grateful if you would answer a few other questions.
Other than driving your personal dog places, what experience do you have with transporting dogs who are unfamiliar to you?
Please tell us how far you would willing to drive from your home base.
Are you comfortable transporting more than one dog?
When transporting, we prefer the dog(s) being crated, but sometimes tethering them is fine. Do you have a crate or crates you can use for transport? If so, what size (please measure end to end – thanks!)
How much experience have you had introducing dogs who don’t know each other? Can you briefly describe how you did it?
Other than fostering and transporting, we do have other opportunities like social media, helping to write bios for the website, taking photos, working with our follow up team, assisting our medical coordinator, helping with fundraising, and contacting businesses and suppliers for donations and contributions. If you are interested in helping in one of these areas, we would be happy to discuss what opportunities might be available.
Would you like to speak with us about other opportunities?
